Wild Duel slot design

This game has a Wild West theme that features gunslingers in the streets. But since it is a product of Peter & Sons, it is dressed up in a more interesting way. Players have a birds-eye view of the dusty street where all the actions between the Marshals and Outlaws happen.

The paytable is filled with the low-paying Royals from the Ten, Jack, Queen, to Ace symbols. There are also high-paying symbols on the paytable that consist of 2 Cactus, a TNT Barrel, a Bison Skull, and a Wagon loaded with bottles. The Wild symbols show the Sheriff Badges with different forms while the Scatter shows the VS logo with a pair of Crossed Swords.

Wild Duel slot features

Wild Duel has a fair amount of stuff in its unique grid with 5 reels and 3 rows. The features basically evolve around the Wild symbols and Scatter symbols as you go through the game. So aside from seeing duels between the marshals and outlaws, you will also encounter Respins and Bonus Spins along the way.

Wild Symbol

The game comes with a Wild symbol that is shown as the Sheriff’s Badge with a “W” logo. This can randomly land on any reel and replace any symbol except the Scatter symbol. There are different kinds of Wilds to watch out for in the reels.

There is a Sheriff Badge with a lock that remains on the reels during the Respins. A Wild with a double arrow expands to cover an entire reel while a Wild with a “W” symbol can randomly land. The last one comes with a Multiplier value that can be added together with other Multiplier Wilds.

Scatter Symbol

The Scatter is the VS symbol with a pair of Crossed Swords and circular arrows behind it. This Scatter symbol has the power to activate the Bonus Spins, Wild Duel, and other extra features.

Wild Duel Feature

Landing 2 Scatter symbols anywhere trigger the Wild Duel feature that awards Respins. Two vertical reels (Marshal reel on the left and Outlaw reel on the right) show up on each side of the panel with 3 symbols each during the Respins.

  • Outlaw Reel = the Outlaws with random Multipliers (1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x), and blank spaces appear here.
  • Marshall Reel = the Marshals and blank spaces appear here. Each character is linked to the Marshal features. Marshal Old Bob is a random Wild, Marshal Goldie Locks is an Expanding Wild, while Marshal Long John is a Sticky Wild.

If the Outlaws matches the Marshalls, a duel occurs. The Marshal features are awarded together with the defeated Outlaw’s random Multiplier whenever the Marshals win the duel. More than 1 duel can occur on a single spin and a win trigger another Respin. The Respin continues as long as the Marshals win the duels and ends once they lost or there’s no duel.

Wild Placement

You can randomly trigger the Wild Placement feature in the base game even though there are no duels or wins. This randomly places 3 Wilds anywhere on the grid with an Outlaw Multiplier that comes into action in the duel:

  • Random Wild = a Wild is added on a panel and a Respin is awarded whenever Marshal Old Bob wins.
  • Expanding Wild = an Expanding Wild is randomly added and a Respin is awarded whenever Marshal Goldie Locks wins.
  • Sticky Wild = a Sticky Wild is added with a Respin when Marshal Long John wins. All Sticky Wilds remain on the panel the entire Respin.

Wild Overlaps

Wild symbols can overlap with the existing Sticky Wilds and add their Multiplier on the current spin. However, the Sticky Wild Multiplier value returns to its previous stage on the next spin. The Wild Multipliers continue growing only if 2 Sticky Wilds overlap.

Bonus Spins

Collecting 3 Scatter symbols activates the Bonus Spins round that gives 10 initial spins for free. At the same time, the Wild Duel feature remains active the entire session where winning duels award these Respins:

  • 1-2 won duels = 1 additional Bonus Spin
  • 3 won duels = 2 additional Bonus Spins

The Bonus Spins counter doesn’t decrease as long as Marshals win in duels and the Respins continue. But once all Marshals lost or there’s no duel, the counter decreases by 1. Also, this feature ends once you used up all your Bonus Spins.

Bonus Buy

Players can also buy the Bonus Spins in some territories instantly with this Bonus Buy feature.

Wild Duel RTP, betting and prizes

There are 10 pay lines in Wild Duel that are evaluated from left to right. As usual, only the highest winning combination is paid on each line. But the game gets more exciting if the winning combo starts with 3 Wilds since there are multiple ways to interpret it. Each spin requires a £0.10 to £50 bet.

You can also opt for the Autoplay mode below the reels to set 10 to 1,000 or unlimited spits. Wild Duel is a highly volatile slot with an average RTP of 96.10% and a 26.78% hit frequency. This is a decent return where lucky players can hit the maximum payout with 1 in 50,000,000 spins probability worth 10,000x the stake. However, hitting the jackpot requires the right Wilds that can last longer with the biggest paid Multiplier.

The low-paying Royals from 10, J, to Q pay £15 to £100 while the K and A symbols pay £25 to £100. As for the premium symbols, the first Cactus pays £50 to £350 while the second Cactus pays £50 to £400. The TNT Barrel, Bison Skull, and Wagon with bottles pay at least £100 but the Wagon pays £550 for 5 matching symbols.

Even the Wild symbol pays £125 to £600 for a winning combination with 3 to 5 matching symbols. Lastly, the Scatter symbols pay £250 to £5,000 for landing 3 to 5 matching symbols on the same spin.

Conclusion

Wild Duel is a straightforward game that is perfect for those who want a fast-paced slot adventure. It starts with a calm street and jumps ahead into action that reveals the Marshals and Outlaws on each side of the grid. The graphics and animations are also great but the duels between the Marshals and Outlaws are risky.

Winnings don’t come easily and dead spins can be annoying. Thus, it’s a good thing that the style of Peter & Sons and its entertaining Wild Duel features can save the day. Its decent RTP and solid potential win give satisfying rewards with the help of Wild Multiplier.
